A delicious first course!, February 25, 2011 |
Reviewer: Paula Lancaster |
In about 1974 I quit training and showing dogs. I felt bad about the yank and jerk methods that were the norm back then. When I began to do rescue work and came back to the world of dogs I came across this book and bought it. I was delighted with it and read it straight through. Because of this book I dove into learning positive training and use that knowledge to help the dogs who come through our rescue. It is not a how-to, but more a testament to the value of positive training methods and a very good read. |

Everything I'm glad I learned, April 13, 2011 |

What an awesome book. I am a trainer and also employ positive techniques. I have recently begun therapy dog work and this book is my new bible. What a great resource for socialization and training. I have tabbed and highlighted throughout the book and have given copies to my dog lover friends and recommended it to my therapy dog colleagues. |
