Expanded Description:
"101 Dog Tricks" is the largest trick book on the market and the only one presenting full-color photos of each trick and its training steps. The step-by-step approach, difficulty rating, and prerequisites, allow readers to start training immediately. Tips, and trouble-shooting boxes cover common problems, while "build-on" ideas suggest more complicated tricks which build on each new skill. No special tools (such as clickers) or knowledge of specific training methods are required. Featuring step-by-step photos of every trick in the book.
Trick training is a great way to bond with your dog and help him integrate into your family. It keeps him mentally and physically challenged and helps to establish paths of communication between you. Many tricks build skills needed for common dog sports, dog dancing, and dog therapy work. |

Desperate Housedogs Must Have, January 20, 2008 |
Reviewer: Barb Mattson |
Kyra Sundance is terrific! So glad to see a book just like this, full of detailed photos and instruction to teach your dog just about anything.
The 'Brainiac' dogs out there would line up out the door to get this book to their owners. A bored dog will find trouble, and this book is a sure cure for a Desperate Housedog... my nephews giggle and are entertained for hours at the tricks my dogs have learned.
sign me up for David Letterman's stupid pet tricks! We are ready! |

Love the Colorful Visual Format, February 7, 2008 |
Reviewer: Chapel Taylor |
I recently bought this book and it has already joined the very short list of books I recommend to my students. It is wonderful! The format is full of color, bullet points, pictures, and concise descriptions. It easy to jump into and start using without having to read the whole thing cover to cover. I like to use these fun tricks as a way to spice up my training routine. Dogs get bored if you keep doing the same old sit, down, stay routine you've always done. With this book you'll find tons of cute fun ways to spice up you're training sessions. If you're really ambitious you could probably use this book to get yourself in to the dog performance arena! |

The Best!, June 13, 2008 |
Reviewer: Gina Hayes |
This is the very best book on trick training that has come along in many many years! Kyra's illustrations along with the simple method of teaching, make it a highly desirable book for anyone interested in teaching their dog tricks! More than that, the book also teaches dog owners how to teach their dogs some beginning serivce or work, duties! This makes a phenomenal gift for that dog lover you know or any dog professional!

Great Book, January 22, 2009 |
Reviewer: Robin Scearce |
This book is fun for the experienced and easy enough for the novice. Good solid techniques are used to acheive the results. A great thing to use aside from more formal training. It will help you keep things interesting and fresh in your training. I was able to gather a few tips and hints that helped in other areas of my training. I highly recommend it. |

Great ideas, training needs work, October 9, 2009 |
Reviewer: Shaya French |
A+ for awesome trick ideas, nice layout and great pictures. C for execution and training suggestions. I have several problems with the training ideas. First of all, don't use a cue until your dog is doing it properly. Don't encourage the dog to do the trick for the first time with the cue. Please!
Also, I would have liked to see clickers encouraged more.
I question if all of the ideas actually work. For instance I tried the suggestions for 'bow'. 'Push your hand toward your dog's nose and downward with your dog standing in front of you.' I tried it with several variations and couldn't make it work. I've had more luck shaping that cue. So, I'd say it's a worthwhile book for expanding your imagination on tricks but you might need to draft your own way of training them. |

Meant for large dogs, but Petty Good, September 12, 2010 |
Reviewer: Rachel Artz |
This book provides illustrations of the tricks intended to be taught. Though a lot of the lessons are described in a rather vague manner. It also is very limited in the training variations that some pets need in order to learn certain skills. It is also primarily intended for larger breeds of dogs. But over all it is a pretty good trick book, though I don't suggest use it without a few other books in addition to it. |

Bond with your dog, November 8, 2010 |
Reviewer: Z. Jacobs |
The loads of color photos is great, unlike other books that poorly describe with little black and white pictures, if any pictures at all. What I love about this book is it provides loads of ideas of things to teach you dog to do that never occurred to me. I did teach the bow, but not with her method. Using her method I did have success teaching the cups game. It would have been nice if there were more tricks to do without so many elaborate items, like a children's basketball hoop. But I do think the book is great as a reference or introduction to get people thinking about all the things they can teach their dog, and learn some new things as well. |

I love the ideas in this book to teach dog tricks. The beautiful pictures and step by step instructions are what made me buy it in the first place. |

I don't regret owning it, November 17, 2012 |
Reviewer: Martha Gonzalez |
But I don't exactly jump up and down that it's on my shelf. I like the book alot actually. It has some great step-by steps for neat tricks. The reason why I'm not particularly enthusiastic for this book is because I could find a whole lot of these trick tutorials and more unique tricks online now. Simply put, what's in this book isn't scarce information. |
