The APDT Chronicle of the Dog is one of the few dog magazines I actually read cover to cover and consistently use as a reference.

SOCIETY OF VETERINARY BEHAVIOR TECHNICIANS
“What an excellent collection of articles previously published by the Association of Professional Dog Trainers’ newsletter! This book is well organized and permits the reader to select a specific topic of interest. You do not necessarily have to read it in any specific order… The wide variety of articles will certainly appeal to lay readers, professional dog trainers, and veterinary professionals. What more could we ask for?!... There is so much more to educate not only dog trainers, but also the owner and veterinary staff. I think this book would prove beneficial to be on the shelf of anyone (not only professionals) that has a keen interest in dog behavior. The wealth of information and the practical application of the subject matter will clearly be a guide to anyone interested in training their dog. We could all profit from reading this text. Happy Reading! - 4.5 out of 5 paws” Mary Ellen Goldberg, BS, VMT, LVT, SRA

Good for Dog Owners Too, August 18, 2014
Reviewer: K Fleet
Although I am not a professor trainer, there are many articles in this collection that would be of value to dog owners. Some help you understand in greater detail how dogs learn while others give insights into various effective training styles (and perhaps give dog owners some food for thought the next time they are looking for a trainer). An article by Sue Sternberg about rescue dogs was particularly interesting since she makes the point (many people forget) that just because a dog is a 'rescue' doesn't mean it has physical or mental issues. The article on diagnostic lab tests would a make an excellent reference guide for any owner. Overall, I highly recommend dog owners pick up this collection!

Good resource, January 22, 2009
Reviewer: SWalker
This was a good resource for a variety of topics. I did find that, because of that, it was a little hard to get through unless you were looking for something in particular. Lots of great info, just a little difficult to find things or navigate around the book.

Simply the Best, March 2, 2008
Reviewer: Amanda Pingston
This is simply the best compilation of authors, subjects and information there is out there. Read straight through or browse by subject, I guarantee you won't be disapointed in this book. For those of you studying for the CPDT, this is a must read! Let me rephrase that; anyone interested in dogs, this is a must read!
