Expanded Description:

Never before has there been such a groundbreaking change in the way dogs are trained in the sport of dog agility. Susan Garrett’s revolutionary 2x2 weave training method will take a skill that people previously struggled with for 6-8 months and turn it into one that can be brilliantly trained in just weeks!

This 2-disc DVD set will allow you to witness not only how easily Susan trained her own young dog to weave from start to finish but also how she worked through the 2x2 process with a “borrowed dog” with whom she had no previous experience. This unique instructional format allows the viewer to witness both the possibilities of amazing weave poles in a matter of days and how to work through the normal challenges anyone may encounter while training his or her own dog using the 2x2 method. Step-by-step instruction and methodically laid out demonstrations will show you not only what to do when things go wrong and but also how to push your dog when things go well. Included on disc two are advanced weave drills that will challenge the understanding of even the most experienced agility dog. A 15-page pdf file is also included, with instructions and record-keeping sheets to be printed out for a useful reminder while you train.

Disc One: Disc one takes the viewer methodically through the 2x2 process in detail. The filming of this disc took place over 12 consecutive days, during which Susan trained a student’s dog from start to brilliant finish. The results speak for themselves as the 13-month-old puppy shows off phenomenal weaving skill by the end of the12 days. The process requires very little equipment and only minutes a day of training time.

Disc Two: Disc two will challenge the knowledge of any world-class agility dog. Unbelievably difficult weave pole entries and proofing games are all made to look easy with Susan’s own 2x2 trained, 14-month-old puppy. The “That Ain’t Right” weave game is among the many exercises on disc 2 aimed at helping to solidify your dog’s understanding of weaving.

Regardless of whether you are a novice agility enthusiast just starting out in the sport or a seasoned professional giving seminars yourself, this DVD set will change your approach to weave pole training forever!

Bonus Materials: 15-page workbook in PDF format

I purchased Susan Garrett's new 2 x 2 DVD last week and have to say it is absolutely brilliant. Not only am I totally convinced after watching it that this is the best way I have seen to teach weaving, to give true understanding and the skills required for outstanding entries and outstanding weaving, but there is so much more to learn from watching it. There are lots of taped sessions of Susan working with a few different dogs (including her own) and it is like being a fly on the wall whilst she is training .... it is fantastic to see the length of each session, the progressions from session to session, how she deals with it when the dogs get it wrong, working through problems, plus the energy and excitement (and just plain fun) she puts into the training. And wow, there are some challenging exercises to try too!!!! I have found it totally inspirational to watch, and way more than a DVD just about weave training.

great weaves ARE possible!, January 19, 2009

Ever since I read Garrett's first article in Clean Run on her 2x2 weave training, I've been curious to actually see it in use - and try it myself. This video really does illustrate her method, and it's impressive. Besides, with all the snow around here, 2x2 is about all I have room for inside. My pup is taking to the method very quickly, and I'm anxious to see how he picks up on it compared to the dogs in class learing by other methods.
Good trouble shooting, well illustrated. This method makes sense.

Weave pole training-the easy way!, November 18, 2009

Using Susan Garrett's 2x2 Weave Pole Training DVD , my 20 month old lab/mix (Zoey) was weaving 6 poles in 2 weeks and 12 poles in less than a month!

We are complete novices to agility as well as to dog training. Zoey and I have had one beginning agility class and it did not cover weave poles. Deciding to train it myself in our postage stamp sized yard, I researched the different weave pole training philosophies and decided to try the 2x2 method because it seemed logical and just made sense to me. I watched the DVD all the way through twice before starting actual weave pole training with Zoey. Starting on October 13, 2009, we trained 3-5 minutes every morning and, most days, 3-5 minutes in the late afternoon. I kept a daily progress record on paper and reviewed the DVD section for each new step in the training process prior to training it. Now, just a month later, Zoey is weaving 12 poles like she has been doing it for years! We still practice 2-3 minutes every morning (with just 6 poles), mostly proofing her pole entrance from various angles as shown on the DVD. We are hoping to run in our first agility trial in March, 2010.

Fun to watch- fun to train, March 8, 2010

I think this is the only way I will teach weaves. It makes it much faster and easier. I have trained dogs with other methods and the dog trained with this method is much more reliable.

To train the poles with any other method would waste time. This DVD is easy to follow. After watching this, and having the notes that can be printed in hand, I think any dog could learn the poles in record time with limited frustration for both human and dog. I can not express how impressed I am.

Superbly clear instructions, July 6, 2012

I have seen a number of dog-sport instructional videos, and dozens and dozens of equestrian ones, and this video is HANDS DOWN the MOST CLEAR AND USEFUL set of instructions I have ever seen filmed. Add to that the fact that the 2x2 method seems to work just *ridiculously* well if your dog has a good foundation in being shaped, and this video simply cannot be beat.

Do note however that, because this is essentially a shaping exercise (or set of them), you and your dog need to be pretty proficient with mark-and-reward shaping before you start 2x2 weaves. If you're not, or if you do not listen to AND FOLLOW every detail of the instructions/advice on the video, then you are likely to have problems. But if you DO put a good 'trick' foundation on your dog first (using shaping NOT luring) and don't try to 'freelance' around what the DVD says to do, it's a super method. As a total novice with my first dog, it took me about a month and a half (not hurrying) to have twelve really solid weaves from any angle. If I can do it, anyone more competent than me CERTAINLY can! Go buy the video. Really.
