Figuring it all out (pun intended), May 11, 2009 |
Reviewer: Cindy E |
This book is wonderfully useful in many ways.
Besides all the training info, I especially needed a 'bridge' to help me convert everything I've been learning from an AKC-experienced trainer to what my mixed-breed dog and I need to do for APDT. The rules, and exercise signs, for these two organizations are a bit different, and those differences can be confusing.
This book details all the similarities and differences between AKC, APDT and CARO Rally exercises, with illustrations of the signs used by each organization. [I used a highlighter to mark the APDT signs so that they would jump out at me.] I got exactly what I needed to succeed after what had been a rocky start in APDT Rally competition.
With the combined benefits of my wonderful trainer and all the info in this book, we've just earned a Level-1 title and need one more leg for a Level-2 title. And we're not going to stop there! |
