Addressing fear and physical responses that leave the dog with a “who are you” look on it’s face, is what this book is all about. With thought provoking questions and effective suggestions to help deal with these problems, it is useful to any and all competitors from the beginner to advanced. Offering in depth observations, and appropriate instructions in each chapter, that are easily understood, and applied by the reader. In addition to the long term reprogramming of your mind set, an entire chapter is devoted to “ Quick Fixes”, with 58 tips to rapidly upgrade your performance.
This is a comprehensive “ how to book” dealing with alleviation of fears and nervousness associated with competition, and is written in layman’s terms. This information can assist in the preparation for any type of competition; it is, in fact, directed to the canine show ring. Every chapter addresses its subject with exceptional knowledge. Each chapter begins with an uplifting and thoughtful poem to set the tone. Encouraging, thoughtful, and applicable quotes are included at the bottom of each page, and a humorous but relevant cartoon ends each chapter. In summary, the construction rounds this book out and makes it into a great read.
The authors ask “Can I find true happiness in dog sports?” After reading this book the answer is a resounding YES! |
