| I bought this since the DVD was recommended by the author of one of the dog training dogs I'm reading. Since I no longer in possession of a DVD player, I purchased this booklet. I have to say that I'm quite disappointed. It covers mainly emergency recall that you could use in life threatening situation for your dog. While I recognize the value of that, having needed that a few times for my fearful dog previously, I find it difficult to squeeze in the amount of training needed for this with all the other behavioral training (conditioning/counter conditioning) I'm doing with my two dogs. Also, I was hoping for something that will help me achieve a solid recall in day-to-day situations. Given that this booklet doesn't cost a lot, it's good to have anyway. Perhaps when my dogs are already doing better in other behavioral aspects, I could start with this. |

I was quite dissappointed when reading this booklet, and so I would not recommend it to other trainers.
If you're already well versed in positive training methods, this book doesn't teach you anything new.
Furthermore I did not find the promised extra chapters about difficult to train breeds/dogs for trainers to use in their classes.
So, ok, it's not a lot of money but I still feel it's wasted. |
