Disappointing, April 21, 2012 |
Reviewer: Kathy |
I was really looking forward to this book, since I liked Ed's VST books so much. I think he does a good job of listing all the components of a TDX test, but I was disappointed in the lack of information about how to train for them. For example, there is little or nothing said about crosstracks, which is a major cause for failure with many dogs. His comments about weather are merely to train in different kinds of weather rather than how different types of weather effect a dog's ability to scent.
After reading this, I went back to my Sil Sanders book and read what he has to say about TDX training. I feel like I got better information in that book which is mainly about TD training. I'd say borrow a friends Component Training for TDX before you decide to buy. |
